Yes. Nevada is pretty dang barren. I was surprised at the elevation throughout the entire state. It bounced between 4,000 and 7,000 feet with a number of chain controls so if it is snowing it could take days to get through! Thankfully, it was sunny and perfect for my travels. Hitting the CA/NV border, I encountered some heavy traffic due to construction around the Donner Pass. I tell you… the stretch of freeway between Reno and Sacramento is probably the most beautiful stretch I travelled outside of MT and Sedona, AZ.

Arriving in the Sacramento metro area I thought about my statistics:

5900 total miles driven;
1 month on road;
25.41 miles Biked/Walked/Ran;
500 total miles riden;
No speeding tickets (1 near miss in WY);
No flat tires;
Many friends and family seen;
400 gallons of coffee consumed;
$1000 spent on fuel;
14 states;
Countless cities and;
4 McBiscuits.

I want to thank XM Radio, Apple, Tool, GNR, Smashing Pumpkins, Gin Blossoms, GWAR, Honda, Firestone Tires, Cheap Chevron Coffee, Super 8 Motels, Garmin, Rand McNally, WordPress, Twitter, and all the awesome people that made this trip as great as it was!
